Serinakaker — Serina Cookies

“Here’s the recipe for some small, delicious and round Christmas cookies that belongs among the traditional Norwegian Christmas bakery, ‘the seven sorts’. For many Norwegians there won’t be a real Christmas without a few cookie tins full of delicious... Serinakaker the house.”

  1. 1 cup butter
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 egg
  4. 2½ cups flour
  5. ½ tsp baking soda
  6. ½ tsp cream of tartar
  7. ½ tsp vanilla
  1. Cream butter and sugar, add egg.
  2. Sift flour, baking soda, cream or tartar and add vanilla.
  3. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  4. Shape into balls.
  5. Press down with a fork.
  6. Brush with egg whites and add pearl sugar. (Pearl sugar can be purchsed at Ikea).
  7. Bake at 350℉ for about 13-14 minutes until golden brown.
